WHEAT POST HARVEST LOSSES IN PAKISTAN
Post-harvest operations are assuming importance due to higher yields and increased cropping intensity. Harvesting is important as the crop is reaped early to make way for another crop. It sometimes coincides with heavy rainfall or severe cyclone and floods. Therefore, suitable technology is necessary for reducing time and safe storage at the farm level. The post-harvest losses are estimated to be about 25 per cent.
